About

JSTRONG's mission is to promote and support sport and recreation accessibility for all youth through financial assistance. On November 7, 2015, Jadon Robinson was involved in a fatal car accident at 17. However, that is not where his story starts or ends. Jadon was involved in numerous sports, teams and clubs. Sport and recreation allowed him to play with others, learn to take direction, discipline, and have fun in a healthy, safe environment.

At 15 Jadon moved to Halifax where he played on both the U17 and U18 Football NS teams, The SJA Flames, where he attended high school and the Timberlea Titans in the Spring League. Jadon had found a sport made for him, the teams, coaches, peers, and extended family who embraced, encouraged and pushed Jadon to be the best he could be physically and mentally, on and off the field. A world he was introduced to because of sport. A life he was blessed to have because of sport. A chance he was given, because of sport.

Jadon’s love of sports influenced him to volunteer countless hours with the world junior hockey tournaments, minor hockey, school sports and the Special Olympics. In fact, his first job was umpiring for minor baseball. Anything that had anything to do with giving a helping hand and keeping busy, you could count on Jadon and a big smile. After his death, Steve Berry approached our family and said he wanted to do something to remember Jadon and his overall contribution of kindness to others. That is when the JSTRONG Fund was born. Although youth are vulnerable, we wish to promote goodness, productivity and healthy outlets offered in our community, such as sports and recreation. Cost is one of the biggest barriers, we assist youth who may not be able to participate in sports due to financial burdens.

It is through various fundraisers that we are able to continue to help Yarmouth youth. Our annual Softball tournament kicks off our campaign in July, followed by our Annual Golf Tournament. Every September, the JSTRONG Fund holds a 2-day street hockey tournament free of charge for all youth to participate in downtown Yarmouth.

Through this fund, we are able to remember Jadon and the difference he has made in his life and continues to be able to help others, help others. Every dollar the Fund raises is distributed back into our community. Community giving directly back by volunteering, donating and supporting one another. All of the thousand helping hands in everything we do were most likely touched by Jadon. A wonderful example of a successful life well lived and a legacy that never dies, a smile preserved in time.

Through this fund, we are able to remember Jadon and the difference he has made in his life and how he continues to be able to help others
